What would you change if you could rewrite it? Homework: Reading Plus due Sunday at 11:59. Study for Units 1-2 Test (Lessons 1-3 and 5-7)

English III Vocabulary— Lesson 7 Acquiesce—v. accept something reluctantly but without protest Captivate—v. attract and hold the interest and attention of; charm Conspire—v. make secret plans jointly to commit an unlawful or harmful act. Ecstatic—adj. feeling or expressing overwhelming happiness or joyful excitement Exploit—v. make full use of and derive benefit from (a resource). Ludicrous—adj. so foolish, unreasonable, or out of place as to be amusing; ridiculous. Mammoth—adj. huge Petrified—adj. so frightened that one is unable to move; terrified. Spurn—v. reject with disdain or contempt Tantalizing—v. torment or tease (someone) with the sight or promise of something that is unobtainable.

Step 1: Topic. Choose an abstract concept like unrequited love, freedom, abuse, jealousy, self-pity, or fear of the dark that the work explores. Topics Addressed in The Crucible Lies and Deceit Respect and Reputation Compassion and Forgiveness Good vs. Evil The Supernatural Justice Religion Jealousy For each topic, write a brief summary and find quotes to prove that this is a topic in The Crucible.
