Career Options  Open Chrome.  Go to  Click on “October 2015” in “PowerPoints” under the “English III” Tab.  Click on your True Color to open a resource on careers for your personality.  Use this list to complete the first section on the “Long Term Dreams/Goals” handout.  You have 5 minutes.

Saving Your Choice Once you have checked all your ideal locations, click “save” in the upper right hand corner and move to the next category Remember: After making selections for each category make sure to click this button!

Majors Click on as many categories that you’re interested in studying If you’re not sure, try to find a few that match your interest If you’re really not sure NO WORRIES! You can skip this step

Filling out the Checklist Worksheet: 1. Two year or Four year? Is your choice a school that requires two years in order to graduate, or a traditional university that takes typically four years to graduate? 2. Public or Private? Public colleges are usually larger and less expensive than private colleges. Public: Southeastern, LSU, Southern University, University of New Orleans, etc. Private: Our Lady of Holy Cross College, Tulane University, Howard University 3. Student Population? College sizes vary greatly. If you don’t know the size, try to look it up or guess. Smaller colleges are more personal; larger colleges offer more majors and programs 4. In State or Out-of State? Is the school located in Louisiana? Where it it? 5. University website: Find the OFFICIAL school website. Hint: it will most likely have “.edu” at the end of it (Example: www2.howard.edu)
