DECIDUOUS FOREST Biome Research By TAKALYNN ELLIS

DECIDUOUS FOREST Geography & Climate  Location: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia  Description: located in the mid-latitude areas which mean they are found between polar regions and tropics  Soil Type: 5 layers including a surface layer of decomposing plant depris and a zone of leaching  Precipitation: 750 and 1,500mm of rain per year  Temperature Range: -30 degrees Celcius to 30 degrees celcius  Climate: hot summers and cold winters

DECIDUOUS FOREST Biodiversity  Plant species: Grandfolia,Hornum,X europaea,Opulus, Flex Femina, Recognitum, Illinoensis, Ovata, Volemus, Papyrifera, Alba  Animal Species: Leucocephslus, Americanus, Latrans, Anafinus, Striatus, Vulgaris, Glis, Nivalis, Viginianus

DECIDUOUS FOREST Adaptations Needed for Survival  Plant: Broad Leaves can capture alot of sunlight for a tree  Many trees have thick bark to protect against the cold winters in the temprature deciduous forest  In the autum, deciduous trees drop their leaves to minimize water loss  Animals: bear, squirrels

DECIDUOUS FOREST Interactions of Biotic and Abiotic  Biotic: The rabbit eats the grass.  Abiotic: The duck swam in the water.

What is Biodiversity?  Biodiversity is different species in communities.

How does biodiversity contribute to the sustainability of an ecosystem?  Use the handout given in class to answer the above question  Type your answer here
