Competitive Fall Season Week of September 3 U9/U10 – Small Group Attack

- Decisions - Ownership - Standards - Enjoyment - Technique - Attacking The Woodbury Way When you get there Session will be Play (until you have 8 players) – 11+ Warm-up (8 minutes) – Work (35 minutes) – Play (8 minutes) Take attendance Go thru names again – the better you know names the better control you can have Play to start once you have 8 players begin session Take time to teach 11+ which will slow us down a bit but it is important to show movements Some groups you will need to provide the energy so be prepared with a few silly things mixed in but get back to business ASAP This will be a fast paced high energy day so you get players rolling

- Decisions - Ownership - Standards - Enjoyment - Technique - Attacking The Woodbury Way Activity 2 – Quick as you can -Two teams -Play 2v2 with pairs ready to go -Game needs to be as fast as you can make it go -Each team defends a goal and attacks a goal -As soon as the ball goes out of bounds the team that was defending gets off and their team is now attacking with a new pair of players at the same time the former attackers are now defending -As soon as a team scores they stay and defend and a new attacking pair steps on from the team that was defending KEYS Be engaged and focused Who is your partner Can you take advantage of another team being asleep? 20yds 12yds

(Bread and Butter) -3 teams 3v3, 4v4 or 5v5 make sure if you play 5v5 you expand the field to 40x30 -If a team scores they grab the ball spin and go the other way to attack the goal -If a team gets scored on they are off and the team on the outside is on -Tempo should be high and you will have to help manage the activity early -Extra team is around the outside of the field waiting to go on KEYS Effort is number 1 priority if effort is not sufficient pull player out and have them watch until the are ready to give effort Willingness to Defend and Attack Look for opportunities to score Be engaged and pay attention 35yds 25yds
