Commencement Speech Reminders
Greet your audience 1. An informal/ comfortable greeting can “break the ice” before rushing into your content. 2. Allow for some time after your greeting for your audience to process who you are. 3. Be sure to look at your audience during the greeting. Look happy and excited to be with them (smile!)
Sell your conclusion 1. It is the last thing your audience remembers. 2. “Show” or emphasize your central message. 3. Stay at the podium for your applause, so it does not look like you are running away
