SCOPING OUT THE ACTIVITY (5 MINUTES) In a nutshell, students will work individually to research a historical person/key figure in society. Students will then create a presentation that will be given IN CHARACTER (first-person). Students will work together with their class museum curator to organize a wax museum-style production. The wax museum comes to life! Each student will present one at a time as each stands in character-as they were organized by the curator. Both the curator (who does have to present) and any students that dress in character will receive 25 points to add to their lowest exam grade. ***ALSO, any student who brings props and/or Renaissance- inspired meals may receive 25 additional points toward their lowest exam.

ACTIVITY PART I (5 MINUTES) Look over this list of people/figures and choose the topic of your presentation. Write your (IV.) in your notes! PREPARATION PHASE (60 MINUTES) Finish your research. Write your presentation on note cards... you must speak in first person and IN CHARACTER! Time yourself! You presentation must last for at least 3 minutes! Practice your presentation so that it is VERY smooth! ***The museum curator for each class must come up with an order and a floor map for the wax museum presentations... work with Mr. Oakes to prepare this... and on presentation day, be ready to take charge and make it happen. You should consider background music, props, and foods.

WAX MUSEUM PRESENTATION DAY (60 MIN) No Bell Ringer! The museum curator for each class will explain the set up and presentation plan... We will go to the auditorium for the presentations!
