The International Labor Organization estimates worldwide that there are 246 million exploited children aged between 5 and 17. An estimated 1.2 million children are trafficked each year. 25 percent of all children who are trafficked around the world are U.S. citizens.
50 percent of trafficking victims are adults. 80 percent of the victims are female. Adult are also more likely to fall victim to bonded labor which is a means of repayment for a loan or service.
