The Reformation What Does it Mean to Reform an Institution and What in Europe Needs Reforming?

Type 1  Think back on the values and ideas of the Renaissance. 1. Which of those values might have caused Europeans to REFORM (or change) society in the 1500s? Or 1. What part of European society might have needed REFORM (or change) in the 1500s?

Why did Europeans in the 1500s-1600s want to reform the Catholic Church? 1. The Church was corrupt. 2. There was political conflict between the pope and European Kings. 1. Europeans were influenced by the Humanist beliefs of the Renaissance.
