This year we will be studying United States History from the causes of the Civil War to the Great Depression.

 1 st Quarter: Causes of the Civil War, The Civil War, Reconstruction.  2 nd Quarter: Industrialization, and Immigration.  3 rd Quarter: Progressivism, Imperialism, and Territorial Arizona and early Statehood history.  4 th Quarter: WWI, The Roaring 20’s and The Great Depression.

 This is a website connected to our book to provide activities for quiz and test review: Go to  1. Choose Social Studies  2. Choose Arizona  3. Click on your book cover …….should be the first one!  4. Scroll down and click on the INTERACTIVE REVIEW – left side  5. Use the blue arrow to choose the chapter the class is studying  6. Games and activities and quizzes provide the best review, but use all the resources to help you do your best on the quizzes and tests!!!!

 Grades are not weighted. The points given on each individual assignment is based on the assignment. Ex: Test more than Quiz, Project more than Classroom Assignment.  Homework in social studies usually consists of studying for the test or quiz, special projects, current events, maps, or enrichment activities.  Homework should not take more than minutes most nights.  When studying for test, students should make flashcards, review study guide and notes taken in class, turn statements in their notes to questions and use the online interactive review. Studying is NOT just reading over the notes.

 2 pocket folder  loose leaf paper (supply for the year)  pencil s/pens/eraser (daily)  personal pencil sharpener  crayons or colored pencils  index cards  highlighters  ruler  scissors
