What did the Jews accuse Jesus of? Were they right?

1.On your map, add the labels to the remaining boxes. 2.Draw arrows showing the order of places Jesus was taken, after his trial at the High Priest’s house. **What crimes do you think Jesus was charged with by the Romans? Jesus is taken to the Roman Governor, Pontius Pilate. Pilate sends him to King Herod, the Jewish puppet king. King Herod sends Jesus back to Pontius Pilate. Pilate brings Jesus out in front of the crowd. The crowd ask for Barabbas to be released. Jesus is led out carrying his cross and crucified.

Jesus before Pilate To describe what happened after Jesus was taken to Pilate. To explain why different characters wanted Jesus condemned To evaluate who is most responsible for Jesus’ death Watch the movie. Tell your partner the order (in numbers) of what happened. Write a BRIEF description of it, or put the sentences below in order and write them out. 1.Pilate’s wife tells Pilate – don’t get involved. 2.Pilate meets Jesus. 3.The Jews explain they have brought Jesus to sentencing to death 4.Pilate finds no case against him 5.Pilate sends him to King Herod. 6.King Herod is not interested as he won’t do any miracles for him, & sends him back. 7.Pilate brings Jesus in front of the crowd. The crowd want Barabbas released, not Jesus 8.Pilate has him whipped 9.Jews still want Jesus crucified. 10.Jesus is condemned to be crucified.

Who gives which reason for allowing Jesus to be condemned to death ? 1.Write out the character’s name, then what their reason is. 2.Draw a picture for each character. **Who do you think is most responsible for Jesus death? Name the characters from the video. He has blasphemed against God and against our Holy Temple. I will be disloyal to Caesar, if I let this man, who claims to be a King, go free. The Jewish priests will start a rebellion if I don’t punish him somehow. It is nice to meet Jesus at last, but he is not a king to threaten me. He is a fool. Pilate can have him back. We don’t want this man as our King. He is a blasphemer. Jewish priest council (Sanhedrin) Pontius Pilate King Herod Pontius Pilate The Jewish crowd

Who bears the guilt ? We are guilty of Jesus death because… I am guilty of Jesus death because… We, the crowd, are guilty of Jesus death because…
