Angles By Peter Woo Period:3

What are What do they Where are they angles? found? do?Let’s Find Out

Angles are… Angles are the figure formed by two lines diverging from a common point. Such as the corners of this square, Okay... but what are they used for? but squares have four even sides so they are all 90 ◦ seeing that a parallelogram would have a total of 360 ◦.

How do you know how many degrees are in a shape? In a triangle there are 180◦, and as I said before there are 360◦ in a parallelogram. To figure out the other shapes just add 180◦ for each side. 180 ◦ 360 ◦ 520 ◦ That’s great and all but how am I supposed to use this information?

Where are they found! Where angles are found? They’re found everywhere just look around. In an office, a room, a kitchen, even a bathroom or our school!

How do you classify angles? Angles fit into three categories: obtuse, acute, and right. Obtuse angles are any angles that are more than 90◦. Acute angles are any angles that are less than 90◦. Right triangles are the ones that are actually 90◦.

How do you find and draw angles? Well for this you need a protractor. If you want to find an angle you need to place the dot or symbol on the flat half of the protractor on the vertex or point connecting the to lines. You should place one flat with that. Finally you should find the measure of the other line and then that’s your angle, but if you want to draw it you just draw a line and line up your protractor. Next you just find the other line and trace it over and you have your angle.

Definitions Just Incase Protractor-A tool used for measuring angles. Vertex-The point at which two angles meet.
