Species- a group of animals or plants that are similar. All dogs are of the same species, but cats are a different species. What is a synonym for the word species?

Survive- to remain alive or continue to exist. Most plants won’t survive without sunlight. How does a polar bear survive in the Arctic region?

Alert- when something is watchful and ready to respond quickly. Antelope are always alert while grazing in grassy fields. Describe situations in which it is important to be alert?

Vibrates- when something moves back and forth or up and down very fast. When a string on a guitar is plucked, the string vibrates to produce sound. What is another instrument that vibrates to produce sound?

Surroundings – the conditions and objects around something or someone. Students work best in quiet, peaceful surroundings. What surroundings make you feel comfortable?

Prey – a creature caught and killed by another animal for food. Mice and chipmunks are the prey of hawks. What is another example of prey?
