Presentation transcript:

About Torbay Torbay is a coastal unitary authority located in South Devon. The Care Trust and Local Authority share a coterminous boundary and serve a resident population of around 134,000. Torbay is one of a handful of Care Trust’s in the country, where the Care Trust is commissioned by the Local Authority to provide the adult social care services, in addition to the services / commissioning of PCTs.

Total Place – whole area approach LSP has Strategic Commissioning Partnerships (SCPs) ‘Torbay PLC’ based around current Community Plan

How does JSNA fit with SCP? Three ‘tiered’ approach: Tier 1 – detailed analysis on SCP priorities SCP priorities to be determined via a ‘priority setting matrix’ SCP priorities then feed following years tier 1 JSNA Associated financial data will be incorporated allowing recommendations for disinvestment in services

How does JSNA fit with SCP? Tier 2 – predictive tools Tier 3 – compendium database Tier 1 will be report based Both tier 2 & 3 will be online downloads Tier 3 will be the responsibility of i-bay to maintain

JSNA Cycle 2008 JSNA influence the 2010/11 budget setting process 2008 JSNA inform SCP priorities 2009/10 JSNA will influence the 2011/12 budget setting process 2008 JSNA based SCP will be tier 1 for 2009/10 JSNA

JSNA influence: QIPP – Prevention / predictive element of JSNA Potentially innovative budget setting Total Place – Informing SCP across the LSP WCC – Evidence based commissioning across SCP’s Personalisation – Strategic overview of population needs

As JSNA evolves in Torbay Post 2009/10 JSNA... Stronger / established SCP Enhancement of financial costing in tier 2 & tier 3
