8.4 Million kinds of Species Jalaja nava laksani Sthavara laksa vimsati Krmayo rudra sankhyakah Paksinam dasa laksanam Trimsal laksani pasavah Catur laksani manusah..... (Padma Purana) [ There are 900,000 kinds of aquatics, 2,000,000 kinds of trees and plants, 1,100,000 kinds of insects and reptiles, 1,000,000 kinds of birds, 3,000,000 kinds of four-legged beasts, and 400,000 kinds of human species.] COW also got the name ‘Pasu’ because it represents all 4 legged animals OS-12

Within each species there are levels of Consciousness Dolphin is very developed in Sea Creatures Banyan Tree is very developed in trees Cow is very developed in animal species Devotees are very developed in human species Killing highly developed incur more sin

Why the COW is very Special? The cow is a symbol of the Earth We respect, honour and adore the cow. Hindus regard all living creatures as sacred Cow gives more than she takes Cow symbolizes all other creatures Cow represents life and the sustenance of life It takes only water, grass & wastes. And gives milk free, like devotees give spiritual knowledge

respect cows by Go Puja – not killing them Go puja is a puja to worship all cows, bulls, and calves. But people in this world are slaughtering and killing so many every day. Between 90,000-100,000 are killed every day in the USA alone. Cows are also like our mother. She supplies so much milk for us to drink with just a little grass and water.

Sloka about Cow Slaughter (CC Adi lila) pitā-mātā mari’ khao —eba kon dharma kon bale kara tumi e-mata vikarma pita-mata —father and mother; mari’ —killing; khao —you eat; eba —this; kon —what kind of; dharma —religion; kon bale —on what strength; kara —do; tumi —you; e-mata —such; vikarma —sinful activities. Lord Caitanya told the Muslim Ruler Chand Kazi..

Lord Caitanya told Chand KAZI (MUSLIM RULER) “Since the bull and cow are your father and mother, how can you kill and eat them? What kind of religious principle is this? On what strength are you so daring that you commit such sinful activities?” Everyone can understand that we drink the milk of cows and take the help of bulls in producing agricultural products. Therefore, since our real father gives us food grains and our mother gives us milk with which to live, the cow and bull are considered our father and mother. According to Vedic civilization, there are seven mothers, of which the cow is one. Therefore Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu challenged the Muslim Chand Kazi, “What kind of religious principle do you follow by killing your father and mother to eat them?” In any civilized human society, no one would dare kill his father and mother for the purpose of eating them. Therefore Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu challenged the system of Muslim religion as patricide and matricide. In the Christian religion also, a principal commandment is “Thou shalt not kill.” Nevertheless, Christians violate this rule; they are very expert in killing and in opening slaughterhouses. In our Krishna consciousness movement, our first provision is that no one should be allowed to eat any kind of flesh. It does not matter whether it is cows’ flesh or goats’ flesh, but we especially stress the prohibition against cows’ flesh because according to sastra the cow is our mother. (A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Sri Chaitanya Charitamrta Adi-lila 17:154. text and purport).
