Review of actions taken Last one year Bangladesh Bangladesh Breastfeeding Foundation

Actions BBF actively participated in preparation of National policy on IYCF BBF transformed 30 maternity services into BFHI. Revitalized of 300 baby friendly hospitals. Kept ongoing market survey on labeling of BMS products In the country. Necessary stapes have been taken for developing curriculum on MN.Establish MSG to ensure maternal health and nutrition

Cont... BBF Provided training for FS and UM to implement MSG. BBF trained 2265 CNO/CNPs. BBF formed 1831 MSG through trained MSG members. BBF prepared resource book and booklet for MSG. BBF formulate National HIV and AIDS communication strategy. The components of the safer breastfeeding programmes are following: -EBF up to 6 months

Cont.. -Good Lactation management (Early initiation, attachment, Positioning, frequent feeds, learning to express) to avoid mastitis and cracked nipples -No feeding from breast with cracked, bleeding nipples and cracked nipples or abscesses -Prompt treatment of infant oral thrush -Heat treatment of expressed breast milk Necessary stages have been taken for strong monitoring and evaluation of all BBF activities.
