GRHAM The Key to… Global Religious Health Assets Mapping GRHAM is a project to map all Christian health care facilities and programs throughout the developing world. Ray Martin, Phyllis Stuckey, and Allison Herling CCIH Annual Conference, May 29, 2005

Why Mapping? Other Agencies recognize the need to work with and through FBO networks. For example: –WHO service availability mapping (SAM) –(IHP) African Religious Health Assets Project –USAID, World Bank, etc. –Pharmaceutical companies (e.g. Pfizer provided an initial grant for funding GRHAM project)

Goals of GRHAM Centralize documentation and maps of FBO facilities, programs and projects. Create and manage a website and database to share that information as widely as possible Train and encourage GRHAM users to: –Dialogue with Ministries of Health and major donors –Improve coordination among service providers –Provide better data for planning –Facilitate distribution of resources to FBOs

Who Benefits from GRHAM? Targeted audiences include: Donor and International Agencies Local governments and Ministries of Health Christian Health Associations Christian international health organizations U.S. Missions Boards Churches and individuals interested in Christian international health work Researchers

Implementation a dual-track approach 1. Sharing available data by Country, Organization, Programs 2.Defining the scope: outputs, type of data, definition of terms 3.Developing the database 4.Develop strategy for obtaining information 5.Develop strategy for training and encouraging GRHAM users in using the database
