November 2012 Updates: More about Hahgoot’s studies
Hahgoot enjoyed her BJE Jewish studies very much. She enthusiastically participated in the review exercises, sorting holiday symbols and customs.
A cool way for reviewing the material was making this little origami gadget, which was great fun!
Another nice activity was making imaginary computer games, related to the holidays: Top left: “chase Haman and eat his ears” (Purim) Top right: “Pharaoh stole the Aficoman – can you get it back?” (Passover) Bottom: “fight the bees to reach the honey and win apples” (Rosh Ha’shana)
We did only a few activities for Chanukah, as I knew she’ll get an overdose of this holiday while in Israel. Hahgoot enjoyed putting up a play about the holiday symbols (left), counting the candles (top right) and guessing the ingredients of Latkes.
Hahgoot enjoyed her Hebrew idioms project, coming up with creative ideas for illustrations.
Her favourite workbook was the Hebrew poetry workbook – and she finished all three in the series in record time!
She worked well in the workbooks I made for her about Hebrew grammar and said it helped her to improve her spelling mistakes.
At the gallery Hahgoot continued to work enthusiastically at her Art Box class with her nice tutor, Amanda.
