About MEIDEX The MEIDEX project, Mediterranean Israeli Dust Experiment, was set up to explore the phenomenon of desert dust as a pivotal factor in global warming. The experiment was planned by a team from the Department of Geophysics and Planetary Sciences in Tel Aviv University. It was an Israeli-US collaboration that was part of the program to send an Israeli astronaut on a NASA space shuttle
