3/6/2016 Montana Annie's 08 Loree Morgan, Montana Grain Growers Assoc. Mark Major, Montana State University Extension

3/6/ Locations, 216 Women, & a grant from WCRMA

3/6/2016 What worked... Attending North Dakota’s facilitator training and using their manual! Using interactive video network for principal speaker presentations Centralized registration, materials, promotion, scheduling of speakers Extension agents to facilitate

3/6/2016 What also worked... Giving copies of presentation power points to participants in their notebooks Making dvd’s of the presentations for participants who missed sessions. Creating a Montana Annie’s marketing game on the Commodity Challenge website

3/6/2016 What didn’t... Too many topics, not enough time! No time to go over homework, or have class discussions or breaks Not enough “hands on” activities Speakers were sometimes rushed No signup deadline – yikes! Not enough local speakers

3/6/2016 What our women said... “I’ll be more of an asset to my husband now” “It would be good if all farm wives could take this course within 10 years of marrying a farmer” “I never thought I would be able to understand any of it, but I can!” How about “Andy’s Project”?!

3/6/2016 All in all... “…this program prompted discussion within families to make some decisions concerning their operation.” “…the greatest strength of the program is ….these women have built a sort of support group.” “Our community looks at this as a real success.”
