The Department of Psychological Science

We’re a large department! 20 full-time faculty members 3 full-time staff 503 majors and 206 minors The largest Ph.D. program on campus (~50 graduate students)

Organization of the Department: Four Clusters

We are teacher-scholars, with active research labs Students get research experience in faculty research labs Students can pursue independent research by conducting a senior thesis

We offer small classes and personalized experiences Teacher-Advisor Program (TAP) Seminars for first year students: Small classes just for first year students, marked by close contact with the professor. Upper Level Courses in the Major: Courses capped at 25 students, marked by a focus on depth of content and active participation. Research Experience: Students can receive credit toward their major for gaining hands-on research experience. These experiences are critical for graduate school and offer opportunities to work intimately with faculty and graduate students.
