Motor is G.E 250 Hp 1750 Rpm Shunt Wound, 500 v Arm 300 V Field CD506AT Frame. Connected to forming extruder gearbox with a 6.66:1 reduction that drive two screws. The motor and torque clutch were replaced on 4/12 and the readings were taken at full rpm with the screws removed. (no load with the exception of what the gearbox would create). The vibration levels were very good and motor was running smooth. (Normal running speed is ~ 1400 rpm). Came back to take readings after line was running and motor is not running smooth any more. Vibrations are up on the motor points with the horizontals reading the highest. (.6 in/s). Phase data was collected on the motor and gearbox points and on each foot/base point. Across the coupler, there is a phase shift but its under 180 deg. I’m not seeing (or I’m missing it) a high 2-3X that would indicate a possible misalignment condition. On the motor feet, I ‘m seeing a shift in phase on the right side between points 3 & 4, but left side is steady. Does this appear to be a misalignment related condition? If it is misaligned, why would it run good the first day (no load), and then change under load?
