Limited Government  Laissez Faire – let alone hands off  Cut federal budget  Decreased size of departments  Reduced size of army and navy  Repealed Whiskey Tax  Pardoned those in jail for the Sedition Acts

Strong Supreme Court  Chief Justice John Marshall  Appointed by Adams  Strengthened the Supreme Court with ruling on Marbury v. Madison
