System Summary – Professional Learning NEEDS ASSESSMENT Type of Activity: 5 Dot Matrix 5 Survey Participants: 386 Professional Staff (Teachers, Administrators, Etc.) 17 Support Staff (Secretaries, Paraprofessionals, Etc.)

East Central Elementary 1.Training on creating report cards that align with CCGPS. Using technology to print progress reports and report cards. 2.Refine/Increase effectiveness of RTI process, including ideas for effectively managing student behavior.

Elm Street Elementary 1. Teacher-led, system-wide/grade level bring-and-share, make-and-take workshops to help with implementing Common Core. 2. Continue Common Core GPS Training. 3. Differentiation Strategies to promote enrichment (from meets to exceeds).

Main Elementary 1.Differentiation 2. Behavior Management Media: Using new technology to increase critical thinking skills (K-6). Paraprofessionals: Motivational and behavioral strategies.

North Heights Elementary 1.Differentiation in Reading, Writing and Math – including interventions for writing and math. 2.Integration of technology to better support implementation of CCGPS. *iPads

Southeast Elementary 1. Technology – iPads. 2.Common Core Standards.

West Central Elementary 1. iPads in the classroom. 2.Standardized Assessments coming to match Common Core.

1. iPad training. 2. Lucy Calkins Common Core Units of Study. West End Elementary

Rome Middle School 1.Technology training – SMART Board, iPad, etc. 2. Using technology in the classroom (Prezi, Bring-Your-Own-Device, etc.)

Rome High School 1.“Fun” staff development to build trust among staff members (example: ropes course at Berry). 2. Any training designed to increase student achievement.

Rome Transitional Academy, Greenwood Learning Center, and Phoenix Learning Center 1.Common Core Training for areas that will soon be implemented (example: science) and implementation of Common Core Standards. 2. Differentiation strategies – especially effective differentiation with Special Education students via the use of the Special Education teacher.
