Please Complete Now at a Level 0  Make sure you have a Kakuro puzzle.  Sit next to someone who you will not distract and who will not distract you.  Be sure to sit in pairs. Trios and above will be broken up.  Get your materials organized (puzzles and parts 0, 1, and 2)  Somewhere on the side of Kakuro puzzle, answer the following questions… 1. What was the most memorable part of your summer? 2. What are you most looking forward to this year? 3. What motivates to you to do better? 4. Why do you think Mr. Patel is having you do puzzles like Kakuro?  Complete the Kakuro puzzle.

Let’s Do Math  Read the response and fill out the 1/2 sheet.  Don’t forget to put your name and indicate which response letter you have.  When reviewing and responding to the responses, be sure to ask yourself if the person answered the assigned questions (shown below)…  Did the response meet our motto?  I don’t care what you’re doing until I know why you’re doing it.  How you chose to approach the problem.  What difficulties you encountered.  Why you chose the strategies you did.

Presentations  Meet with everyone who had the same letter as you.  Discuss the following in your group:  What feedback do you have?  What are positives?  How can the response be better? Be specific.  Did the paper meet our motto?  I don’t care what you’re doing until I know why you’re doing it.  Presentation expectations:  Read the response / display it on the Elmo.  Share 1 positive and 1 area to grow.  Discuss if the response meet our motto.
