Summary of the Lesson

All the multicellular organisms, cell organization makes all processes of life happen. Such as helping us digest food, move from place to place, catch a baseball, and many more things too. Cells are specialized, so they perform only certain functions. Cell comes in many shapes and sizes, and they always relates to its function. Such as the skin cell is flat and close together with each other, and muscle cell is larger then other cell and it has many fibers can contract and relax to cause movement.

Cells in multicellular organisms are organized in different levels. Cell meets it needs of the organism as a whole. Cell joins together to perform basic life functions in multicellular organisms. Cell is organized by the order from Cell to organism. A tissue is formed by a large group of similar specialized cells. An organ is a group of related tissue that performs a specific function.

An organ system is a group of related organ that work together to perform a specific function. An organism is a form of the combined of different organ systems. The example of the cell are nerve cell, bone cell, and muscle cell. The example of the tissue are nerve tissue, bone tissue, and muscle tissue. The examples of organ are heart, brain, and stomach. The examples of organ system are circulatory system, excretory system, and respiratory system.

Plants have organ system too, such as the tubes that carry water nutrient through a plant, and a leaf of a plant. Plant has organs such as leaf, fruit, stems and roots. Each plant organ consist of related tissues that made up of specialized cells that perform a certain function.

Vocabulary Tissue: A large group of similar specialized cells. Organ: A group of related tissues that perform a specific function. Organ system: A group of related organs that work together to perform a specific functions.

Beyond the book

Histology is the study of tissues. The four tissue types are: Epithelial, Connective, Nervous, and Muscular. Pathologist is the study of looks for tissue changes that indicate disease What Epithelial tissue can do are: Protect you physically. Control permeability. Provide senses of things. Produce specialized secretions. Muscle tissue are specialized with contract and relax. There are three kinds of muscle tissue, they are cardiac, skeletal, and smooth.

Neural tissue: Conducts electrical impulses. Transport information from one area to another. Connective tissue: Establishing a structural framework Transporting fluids and dissolved materials Protecting delicate organs Supporting, surrounding and interconnecting tissues Storing energy reserves Defending the body from microorganisms
