It’s recommended that you take both SAT/ACT at least twice. Please check with the university you are applying to. Also, some universities may not accept the ACT without the writing portion.

Take both the SAT /ACT at least once the spring of your junior year. Then depending on which test you do better on, study, do some prep and take it the fall of senior year.

Apply before the Pie Start your applications, work on your essays, and begin scholarship searches in the summer. Common App and Apply Texas open August 1 st. Rule of thumb “Apply before the Pie” Submit applications before Thanksgiving.

The only thing counselors will do is send a letter of recommendation to the Universities if the student requests one to be sent. 21 working days Students are required to give the counselors 21 working days to write letters of recommendation. Please note that this does not include weekends and holidays. Please follow this requirement!

Many scholarships require this to be filled out, as well as any universities you are applying to. Always apply for scholarships through the university.
