Respiratory system By: Nick Huerta and Rachel Siems

Diagram and breathing process The breathing process begins when you breath through your nose or mouth and into your lungs. The lungs expand and causes the diaphragm to go down. Than a tissue gets rid of carbon dioxide.

Major Functions and organs Trachea- Is a windpipe that has two pipes which heads to the left lung and the other one heads to the right lung. Lungs- It helps breathe air and breathe out air. Diaphragm- Gives the lungs the room it needs to grow. The respiratory system helps you breath and gets rid of a harmful gas called carbon dioxide. The system gives oxygen to blood cells. The blood cells gets the oxygen to places in your body.

How the respiratory system works with other body system The respiratory system works with the circulatory system by delivering oxygen to the blood cells which carries oxygen to places in your body. The nervous system helps the respiratory system by allowing us to know we breath. The muscular system woks with it by the respiratory system delivers oxygen to the muscles. The respiratory system gives the digestive system oxygen. The digestive system gives the lungs nutrients.

Facts From the outside the lungs are pink and a bit squishy like a sponge. As you breath in your diaphragm contracts and flattens you out. When you breath air the air is 21 percent oxygen. The left lung is slightly smaller than the right lung. Children breath faster than grownups.
