Teachers Please prepare for Fire Inspection Safety

Extension Cords No extension cords are used as permanent wiring. Zip cords (extension cords with 2-3 plug-in places at the end) are not allowed at all.

Storage Must be more than 24 inches from ceiling If you need anything moved, please inform us so we can take care of it.

File Cabinets Fill this one first

No Piggyback Surge Protectors

Can’t Have Paper on Doors/Windows

Classroom Walls Paper can’t cover more than 50% of your wall Leave 6 inches around all electrical outlets

Fabric or Furniture Fabric on walls or windows, or any furniture needs to have documentation that it is flame retardant

No 3D Paper Items on Walls Can’t do this or other 3D paper items (e.g. masks) on walls

Clear Fire Extinguisher and Alarms No distractions near it

Electrical Panels Must Be Accessible Not good

Hanging Items from the Ceiling No more than 5 or 6 hanging items Must be non-combustibles such as a chain of paper clips FYI – Don’t hang any students from the ceiling

Earthquake Safe Items must be safe, will not potentially fall and hurt someone Make sure storage items are secure
