KS1 and KS2 external moderation changes KS1 TA data submission deadline Friday June 10 th Schools informed of KS1 visits on Tues June 14 th KS1 moderation window Tues 21 st June – Fri 24 th June KS2 TA assessment writing deadline Wed May 25 th Schools informed of KS2 visits on Friday 27 th KS2 moderation window Tues 7 th June – Thurs 16 th Triggers for visits are 4 yearly cycle, new HT/SLT, data anomalies, STA/OFSTED/LA concerns KS1 NQTs – support session in May TBC

KS1 and KS2 moderation continued…. Teachers do not have to be released except if moderator needs to clarify evidence/judgement Can still choose a professional discussion model Please let me know of any potential timetable clashes by end of spring term if you want to have teachers present for moderation discussions. Phonecall/ one day before the visit to let you know which children have been selected but all children’s evidence should be available – KS1

KS1 and KS2 moderation continued…. Marked test scripts and results must form part of the presented evidence in KS1 Need evidence for each bullet point in each standard in the interim frameworks Intention to appeal must be made at the time of the visit and can only be based on moderated evidence Appeals panel KS1 – Tues 28 th June, KS2 Mon 20 th June Central moderation events for teacher assessment interim frameworks – 25 th Feb or 15 th April Exemplification from STA is due out imminently

EYFS moderation Triggers – 4 yearly cycle, data anomalies, requests, non-attendance at agreement trials EYFS NQT support session – Fri 15 th April Timing – Tues 14 th June – Friday 24 th June Agreement trials – PSED and L focus Data submission deadline – Fri 24 th June Spring cluster moderation meetings The future of EYFS Profile and GLD????

Rochford review – SEN standards interim standards On-screen multiplication tables check Science sampling – 6 th June – 17 th June KS1 maths tests - no number apparatus (mirrors) - 3 x table questions to test repeated addition KS2 - Cross out mistakes (except drawing questions) - no tracing paper, or calculators (mirrors) - show formal methods

Maladministration HT responsibility to ensure the integrity of the tests is maintained NAHT: “Weaknesses in procedures leave staff vulnerable to accusations of maladministration, without the evidence to satisfy an investigation by the STA” DO….train all staff involved in tests Do….appoint a test administrator Do….everything in pairs Do ….invite independent visitors to observe Do ….quality assure your own school procedures

KS1 progress OFSTED have been commenting….. Southwark are in the 3 rd quartile but 1 st for EYFS and 1 st /2 nd KS2 results Difference between Southwark and National gets wider for L2B and wider still at L3…. New test (SPAG) and higher standard tests and TA What was your % expected+ in R, W and M in EYFS in 2013, and how did it compare to KS1 2B+ in 2015? Cathedral and Albion
