Introduction Islam is a religion which guides its followers accordingly in every aspect of life. It prepared a guide in every aspect of life such as ways of communication to the people, dealing in business even to the intimate part include cleanliness in individual. Muslims entire the world should have high standards of personal hygiene because it greatly emphasized on both physical and spiritual, cleanliness and purification.
Islamic perspective Cleanliness is a sign of faith. Clean physical and spiritual aspects can generate individual’s health. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) also taken care of his appearance such as, cutting the nails, the hairs in the armpits and the groins, shortening the long parts of the moustaches and especially keeping the teeth clean. As one of the hadith stated that: “Four things are from the practices of the prophets: the feeling of modesty (chastity), scent, cleaning the teeth and marriage”

Hand hygiene the making of ablution to the performance of prayer. Prophet Muhammad pbuh said; “ When you wake up from sleep to pray, wash your hands before you put them in the ablution water, for you do not know where your hands have spent the nights”. It potentially minimizes microorganisms on the hands and is considered as primary measure for reducing the risk of transmitting pathogens.

Oral hygiene Good oral hygiene is important to prevent oral diseases. Can be achieved by self care of the patient through proper toothbrushing and flossing. Abu Hurairah narrates that Prophet Muhammad pbuh; “Were it not (for the fear) of overburdening my Ummah, I would have ordered them to (brush their teeth with) siwak at every solah”.

Reflections.. Do you wash your hands before and after treating every patient? Do you unworn any jewelery or watch before start the treatment procedure? Do you monitor every of your patient’s oral hygiene status? Do you think that your cubicle is clean? How often you change your purple coat?
Conclusion Cleanliness benefits a lot not only to the human being but to other creations. Firstly, it may prevent infection or contamination to occur. Prevention is always better than cure. Thus, it is compulsory to health personnel and institution to become clean. Besides, clean body can generate healthy body and the surrounding as well.
