Focus Questions Outline the roles of parents and carers (3 marks) Discuss how the factors affecting the roles of parents and carers can impact on ONE of the following: -Satisfying the specific needs of the dependant -Building a positive relationship with the dependant -Promoting the wellbeing of the dependant (8 marks) Activity 1a

1 Minute Madness Brainstorm everything you know about the method of attempting an examination. Things to think about: -Which sections do I attempt first? -How much time do I spend on each question? -What is involved in planning a response? -What do I do if I draw a blank? -How do I structure an extended response? Share responses with the group Activity 1b

Influences on parents and carers (personal, social) Safety and Security – Sense of identity – e.g Religion/spirituality - e.g Gender expectations - Styles of parenting and caring Rights and responsibilities Link: back to the question and possibly make reference to wellbeing Activity 5
