3/ 15 April 2008 The earliest record of a settlement dates back to 985AD, when King Ethelred II gave land to Lady Wulfruna The area became known as Wulfruna’s Heantune, meaning Wulfruna’s High Town. From this we get the name Wolverhampton

4/ 15 April 2008 Wolverhampton has a long history in manufacturing, starting with weaving and wool products moving on to metal crafts in the 1700’s This includes the famous Chubb company who make locks and safes
