Planning Department Summer 2010 Progress Report (Click to Advance Slides)

Summer 2010 accomplishments ▫Streetscape Project  “From a vision to reality.” The vision of an attractive, inviting, and functional pedestrian streetscape was developed. After gathering community input, the project was initiated and shows great promise.

Summer 2010 accomplishments ▫Roads Map  A new official Town Map was created that greatly assists both visitors and residents in navigating our winding mountain roads. Thanks to exacting reviews and revisions, this map is much more comprehensive and accurate than previous versions.

Summer 2010 accomplishments ▫Fox Crest Subdivision  Staff was able to work with developers to see to it that this subdivision was completed to acceptable standards.  The subdivision is now an asset to the town, rather than a casualty of the economic crisis.

Summer 2010 accomplishments ▫Other Accomplishments:  Beech Mountain recognized as a Tree City, USA  Addressed Ordinance issues regarding Group Homes ▫Through these and other efforts, the Planning Department continues to strive to keep our town a great place to live, visit, and play- both now and in the future. …Striving to make Beech better, through vision and foresight.
