Its very hard to find new music on vinyl Moving platter

CD turntable/CD players CD turntables…. Have Advanced functions like cue points and loops Tracks can’t ‘skip’. IF CD does skip its probably damaged No moving platter A lot of models support mp3 CD’s Recent models support usb/flash drives

DJ Mixer A Dj Mixer….. Is needed if you’re going to DJ with CD players and/or turntables Available with 2,3,4,5 or 6 channels Special scratch mixers for turntablism Some mixers have extra functions like effects or samplers

Timecode Dj hardware/software All music is stored on your laptop You control all the music with your turntables or cd players(using special timecode vinyl cd’s) Cue point and loop functions in the software Timecode on vinyl can’t ‘skip’

Midi DJ controllers Midi Dj controllers…. A complete DJ set in a single unit Controls all functions in your software so you don’t even have to use your laptop Platters can be used for scratching, but on some controllers it doesn’t work properly

Other Equipment Headphones-to listen to the tracks and different beats I am making Speakers- To produce sound and allow the audience to listen to the music and beats that I’m and making Amplifier- To control the sound that is produce by the speakers Microphone- To communicate and interact with my audience Cords/Cables- To connect equipment together so everything will operate as it should Laptop/Computer- To store all my music etc. and connect to other equipment

Similarities Midi Dj Controller and Turntable… Platters can be used for scratching Used for playing and mixing music Moving platter

Differences Midi Dj Controller Controls all the functions in your software so you don’t have to touch your laptop Complete dj set in one unit Some controllers scratching doesn’t work well Turntable Good for turntablism Uses real vinyl records

Conclusion In conclusion I think the Midi Dj controller would be more suitable for me because its easier to use as a Dj cause it comes with everything you need in a single unit and it’s better for travelling around to different events. I’m aware that the controller is not made for turntablism and I wouldn’t mind not being able to do that.
