2 Why should we care how our handouts look? When handouts look better, they work better. Students understand them more easily and learn more effectively.

15 Most PowerPoint slides do not make good handouts. It’s better to design the handout separately.

16 When you’re finished… Step back and take a broad view. Squint while holding the handout at arm’s length to get a better idea of the overall design. Don’t let a bad copying job ruin your beautiful handout. Know your copy machine!
