Praying for rain

“Wait on the Lord.”

Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door! James 5:7-9

Things of value take time

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 2 Peter 3:8

We can stand firm and wait with a hope and a promise

“Waiting” does not equate to “Do nothing.”

God wants you to take responsibility, but remember that he is still in control.

Wait on the Lord

We are all waiting for the rain whether we realize it or not

Here is the amazing thing: Ultimately our strivings, our deepest longings, our broken dreams, are fulfilled in a person. The person of Jesus Christ.

Do any of the worthless idols of the nations bring rain? Do the skies themselves send down showers? No, it is you, Lord our God. Therefore our hope is in you, for you are the one who does all this. Jeremiah 14:22
