B ACKGROUND AASHTO is updating its Strategic Plan SCOH wants to update its plan, align with AASHTO Strategic Plan Current SCOH Strategic Plan from 1998 SCOH wants to engage, coordinate more with Subcommittees to support AASHTO goals 2 SCOH S TRATEGIC P LAN

AASHTO P LAN C HANGES Finding additional revenue remains Board’s top goals Funding dominated all other issues Board believes transportation must demonstrate tangible results in order to receive funding Sets goal to cut fatalities in half by 2030 Wants to contribute on climate change, energy conservation Seeks to lead on setting performance measures 3
