Why does Batman and Spiderman go after bad guys? Are they police officers? Turn in your homework!

 You are going to see two review questions. You need to write down your answers, and then you need to hold up the answers on your fingers when asked.

 A) Gullah  B) Spanish  C) Haitian  D) French

 A) French Colony  B) Royal Colony  C) Independent Colony  D) Pirate Colony

 You have two minutes to either study your study guide or raise your hand and ask questions about the quiz.

 You will have 15 minutes to take the quiz. When you finish, raise the quiz up in the air and Mr. Smith will come collect it. If you talk, Mr. Smith will point at you and you will lose five points.

 SWBAT explain the Regulator Movement

 People from the lowcountry and people from other colonies moved to the upcountry  Upcountry (backcountry) white population outnumbered the lowcountry’s  Much less representation in the Assembly (legislature—make laws)  Paid taxes

 No Law Enforcement  Settlers took the regulation of the colony in their own hands—called Regulator Movement  No Courts, so they operated as vigilantes  When people were found guilty, they were hanged or beaten to death without a trial—violated rights

 SC government helped backcountry settlers by establishing seven circuit courthouses to provide justice  Still more representation in legislature for the backcountry

 We are going to create a comic strip of the Regulators. You need to have at least eight parts of your comic strip.

The Regulators

 Write a half a page to explain the Regulator Movement.
