The Vedic Aryans and the Vedic Period 11/8/11 A-4 LA

Beginning of the Vedic Aryans  The death blow to the Indus valley civilization came around 1500 B.C.  A wave of migrations came from the northwest becoming the Aryans.

Aryan’s Military  They where aggressive nomadic they where also wanderers warriors and herders.  They had superior copper and bronze weapons.

Aryans Culture  They spoke a ancient Indian language the language is now called Iran and Sanskrit.  The first literary period in India is known as the Vedic period.  It lasted 1500 B.C to 500 B.C. this period was named after the Vedas it was a collection of hymns and other texts
