THE TUNDRA bCreated by Devon and Houston

Plants bIn Autumn a low bush of cranberries, lichers and dwarfbrich is on the ground like a blanket. It is so cold that trees can’t survive. Some of the most beautiful plants are in the Tundra such as lichens, mosses, grasses and shrubs. There are fields of Butter Cups and Arctic Cotton.

Animals bThere are surprisingly a lot of animals in the Tundra, including the Arctic Fox, Emperor Penguins, Oxen, a variety of wolves, and Polar Bears. Insects include mosquitoes and black flies. Sometimes oxen crowd together from the Arctic winds to keep warm.

Climate  Sometimes the weather can be so cold it goes down to -30 º F (-34 º C). It is so cold no trees grow, only small shrubs.

Location bThe Tundra as we know it lies near the Arctic Ocean, in North America and Northern Alaska, in Asia, Canada, and parts of Europe and Russia.
