Font:  Text of a certain design, available in hundreds of varieties.  Called typeface. Style:  The way a font looks: Bold, Italic, regular Points:  The measurement of a font’s height  72 points is one inch high  most text is 12 points high. The text gets bigger as it gets taller. Important things to remember about font

Monospace:  A font in which all the letters are the same width  like on old typewriters.  Courier is a monospaced font. Proportional:  A font whose letters are only as wide as they need to be.  The I is skinny, and the W is wide.  Most new fonts are proportional such as Times, Helvetica, Geneva, etc. Important things to remember about font

Important things to remember about fonts Serif:  A font with doodads on the end of the letters, like little ornaments on a Christmas tree.  Times, Courier, Palatino are Serif fonts San Serif:  A blocky font without doodads on the ends of the letters.  Helvetica & Arial are San Serif fonts.
