Grammar Subject and Predicate: Unit 1

These members of the dog family can live in a variety of environments. ❖ Every sentence contains a subject and a predicate. ❖ A simple subject is the most important word or words in the complete subject. It is a noun or pronoun that tells whom or what the sentence is about. ❖ By identifying the simple subject in a sentence, you can determine whether the subject is singular or plural and choose the correct verb form to use with it.
