TGIM ! c/w: Good things (+ share previous day hw), Social contract Day 1 h/w: Step out of your comfort zone and talk to a random person. 9/22/14

What is a Social Contract? Agreement of behavior

What will be the standard for the Social Contract? Professional world

Groups of 4 or 5 Each member of the group will have one (or more) of the following roles: facilitator, scribe, spokesperson, timekeeper & on-task person, and affirmer. Each group will be responsible for answering a question. I want you to write short words (adjectives) and/or phrases. Do not number your thoughts.

Questions 1. How do you want to be treated by me (leader)? 2. How do you want to be treated by each other? 3. How do you think I (leader) want to be treated by you? 4. How do we want to treat each other when there is conflict?

Goal? Self-managing group. Prepare you for professional world.

What if you don’t agree 100%? Look at Social Contract (what did we talk about?) Democratic society – Majority rules All choices have consequences

Consequences Step 1: verbal warning Step 2: personalized warning Step 3: call home Step 4: referral (sent to office)

Effort, Listening, No put-downs
