UNIT 7: SKILLS By Mohammad Farran

READING A paragraph usually begins with a topic sentence. The topic sentence tells the reader what the paragraph is about. ~Do exercise 4 on page 40~

WRITING In writing, we use full stops (. ) to end sentences and commas (, ) to separate things in a list. ~ Do exercise 1 on page 42~ We can use ‘in addition’ and ‘and’ to join two similar ideas together. Example… GR101 is an interesting course, and it is also very useful. ~ Do exercises on page 42~

WRITING We use pronouns (I, me, he, him, it, them, they…) to avoid repeating nouns in English. Example: Ahmad is a student in my class. Ahmad works very hard. ~ Do exercise 4 on page 43~
