Hall A Target Gmp Meeting Sept 24, 2012

General Goal to Make A and C Identical Give option for complete target swap in crisis Allow fewer total spare components o Gives more total components for crisis events Easier maintenance Allow faster install/removal times All mods will have to meet 10 CFR 851 requirements.

General Maintenance Replace all safety reliefs with ASME valves. Upgrade CAD models. Replace lifter motion control system with updated controler. Replace/rebuild all fan motors Replace all temperature sensors Replace all wiring o Internal wiring upgrade to thicker wire o external cable connections same for each hall

Upgrades Remove solenoid valves from gas panel Remove VPT pump/purge panel. Replace all loop plumbing o New drawings o New hose sections o New heater sections (tees with feethrus) New heaters o Heater/supplies will be same as Hall C o New heaters will be in loop New loops will be consistent with Hall C

Current Request 10/15 cm cells o Use standard CF style cells 3 loops LH2 Standard Optics Target Standard Dummy target Standard solid target ladder o 5 positions o Empty Compatible with DVCS Special pointing target is acceptable but must be interlocked to target motion

Summary Gmp has reasonable and standard requirements Work on target for Hall A is in progress All requests so far have been for standard equipment See no problems with schedule or requests
