The Viet Minh Take Control After the Japanese surrendered the Viet Minh entered Hanoi on 17th August. Bao Dai asked the Viet Minh to form a government. On 25th August in Saigon the Viet Minh took over the government of Cochinchina. After 10 days of Japanese surrender the Viet Minh controlled Vietnam. On 2nd September 1945 Ho Chi Minh declared the independence of Democratic Republic Vietnam. For Ho Chi Minh the situation was complicated. The Allies agreed when the Japanese were defeated, Indochina should be occupied by Chinese Nationalists.

The Viet Minh Crushed The Viet Minh tried to appease Gracey, the British General, but he refused to comply. Gracey began to organise the return of the French Anti-British demonstrations by the Viet Minh French troops took down the Viet Minh Headquarters Around 200
