The Need To Know God’s Will Human experience shows us: 1. Messed up lives. 2. Mixed up marriages. 3. Misinformed people The Bible shows us: That which is "perfect, good, acceptable” That which can be known God’s Will: Directive, Permissive, and His Overruling Will
The Finding of God's Will (vv. 1-6) The steps to knowing: 1. Put a priority on God's Word (v. 1) 1 My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, 2. Be sincerely open to what God has for you (v.2) 2 So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; 3. Earnestly pray for God to reveal it to you (v. 3) 3 Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding,
Discernment and discovery promised! 4. Sincerely seek it through every possible means (v. 4) 4 If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Promises of provision 5 Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God. 6 For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; Discernment and discovery promised!
