Asking and responding to questions whether someone remembers or forgets something

Discussion The questions asked are usually in the form of direct and indirect questions. Direct questions can be Yes/No questions or Wh-questions. In the indirect questions, you have to pay attention to the sentence construction: Do you know where she goes to school?

Do you remember…..? Do you remember the best film you’ve ever seen? Do you remember any silly experience you had? Do you remember who congratulated you first on your last birthday? Do you remember whom you hit in kindergarten? Do you remember who teaches syntax? Do you remember what made you cry last holiday? Do you remember what you gave your mom on mother’s day? Do you remember what her hobby is? Do you remember Julia who had a crush on you on Junior High School?

Responses Sure. Of course I do. How can I forget (it)? I’m sorry. I forget. I’m afraid I don’t remember any of it. It doesn’t ring a bell (any bells).
