Viktor Mihailovich Vasnetsov ( )
He was born on May 15 th, 1848 in the village Lopial of Vyatka province.
He studied at the religious school ( ). Later he studied at the religious seminary in Vyatka ( ).
In 1867 Vasnetsov went to St. Petersburg to study painting. He studied at Academy of Arts ( ).
In 1876 Vasnetsov went to France. In Paris he studied classical and contemporary paintings, impressionist alike.
In 1877 Vasnetsov went to Moscow. He concentrated on illustrating Russian fairy tales and bylinas.
In he painted frescos in the St. Vladimirs Cathedral of Kiev.
In 1880 th Vasnetsov was a member of the Mamontov’s circle in Abramtsevo.
The church of Savior and hut on chicken legs were built in Abramtsovo to designs by Vasnetsov.
In 1904 Vasnetsov drew a sketch of the facade of the Tretyakov Gallery.
