SKETCHBOOK ASSIGNMENT: IN THE STYLE OF EDWARD GOREY DUE: ONE WEEK TODAY EVALUATION: 10 APPLICATION MARKS

Instructions:  Draw a box 4 x 4 inches in your sketchbook.  Create your own drawing within the box inspired, by the style and theme, of Edward Gorey.  Include a wacky saying with your image or use one of his:  “U is for Una who slipped down a drain” or  “I have no notion, not a clue why I am sending this to you” (Refer to your art package for full instructions.)

In the Style of Edward Gorey  How would you describe Edward Gorey’s theme/subject matter?  How would you describe his artistic style?  What medium does he use?  What type of line?

Instructions:  Use one of the photographs provided or find one of your own (use the same image for both drawings).  Redraw the tree with ONLY geometric shapes.  Redraw the tree again this time ONLY with organic shapes.  Shade, colour or use cross-hatching to complete your design.
